Scope:
Rheology is an interdisciplinary research area in the field of material science, and its importance has been growing rapidly because of scientific/industrial development of various kinds of materials. For the rheological research in the next generation, we absolutely need young active rheologists who can flexibly make an international and/or inter-institute collaboration on a basis of their friendship.

The International Workshop for Far East Asian Young Rheologists (IWFEAYR) was organized for providing the Far East Asian young rheologists with an opportunity of starting this collaboration. This is a quite informal workshop, and its basic idea is to highly encourage the young researchers to communicate/discuss/interact under a friendly and informal atmosphere. The attending professors just help the young researchers.

The first and second IWFEAYR were successfully organized in Seoul, Korea, in February 9-11, 2006, and in Kyoto, Japan, in January 26-28, 2007. Following this success, the third IWFEAYR is organized in Shanghai, China, in the period of January 25-27, 2008. The young researchers willing to start-up his/her future collaboration as well as professors wishing to help it are highly welcome to join the workshop.
